GARDNERVILLE, Nev., February 3, 2015 – It’ll be a busy day at the Douglas County Public Library today as Toddler and Preschool Storytime returns with toddlers welcome at 10:30 a.m. and preschoolers starting at 11:15 a.m.

Then, this afternoon, the library is introducing an extension of its READing Paws program with Dog Day Afternoons, which children in first through third grades may come to the library and read with a READing Paws therapy dog. Dogs will be there from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

A reminder: Waterloo Lane will be closed today and Wednesday for a culvert replacement between Highway 88 and Centerville Road, so make plans accordingly. You can read more about that project here

It is supposed to burn off by 8 a.m., but we don’t really see any thus far. Look for a high of 61 today with mostly sunny skies. Overnight low should drop to 30.

The chance of rain has been moved up to as early as Thursday evening, though it stands only at 10 percent.
