Music workshop conducted by California Honeydrops set for Oct. 24

Students Grades 7-12 and adults interested in vocal music, songwriting and starting in the music business are encouraged to register for the Friday, October 24th, 2014  Youth Music Workshop  from   2:30 PM – 4 PM  at  CVIC Hall in Minden.

This 90-Minutes workshop with the California Honeydrops includes getting started in professional music, songwriting, homemade instruments and interactive elements.  Learn more about the CA Honeydrops at  Their high energy, powerful vocals with a conversational intimacy and humor hark back to the golden age of soul and country music.


The California Honeydrops have been featured at Monterey Jazz and Strawberry Music Festival. The CA Honeydrops will perform for a sold-out audience at the Fillmore in San Francisco this weekend and are scheduled to perform on the Prairie Home Companion in early November.  This is an amazing opportunity for local youth interested in music.

“Though from Oakland, their Southern fried jazz is so authentic that audiences may wonder whether they’ve been transported to the Big Easy.”  LA Times.  The California Honeydrops are the second concert in the 2014-15 Carson Valley Arts Council series and advance tickets are available at the Carson Valley Arts Council for $22 for adults and $5 for students.

Pre-Registration is required for the music workshop. It is $10 for students or $40 for adults.  Workshop registration includes a concert ticket for 7 PM Friday evening at CVIC Hall.
