There was a flurry of earthquake activity about 17 miles southeast of Mammoth Lakes Sunday evening, with a 3.5 quake being registered by the Nevada Seismological Laboratory at 5:13 p.m. and then another 3.5 quake at 5:20. Just something to keep an eye on.

Your Columbus Day weather includes clear skies and a high of 82. The chance of precipitation we started talking about last week has been pushed to Tuesday night at least, maybe Wednesday morning at this point. We’ll get there when we get there if we get there, I guess.

In today’s calendar, brought to you by k2 Pilates, The Douglas High girls golf team competes in Day 1 of the regional championships today and the Douglas girls soccer team hosts Hug at 3 p.m. (JV at 5 p.m.).

We have a busy day planned with a pair of stories about two very inspiring local teens. More on those in a bit.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
