Carson Valley’s Signature Burger For 2014: ‘The Danimal’ From Grill Next Door
The lead changed hands repeatedly throughout the final day of voting and it came right down to the final two minutes, but the Grill Next Door’s “Danimal” took a lead it wouldn’t relinquish in claiming the title of Carson Valley’s signature burger for 2014.
Only 34 votes separated the Danimal from Minden Meat & Deli’s “BBQ Guy” when the polls closed and we received nearly 5,000 ballots cast through the nomination and final rounds.
For anyone who has tasted any of the four finalists, you know there were only winners in this competition.
We’ll be bringing the coveted Burger Wars Plaque to Dan Frederickson and the Grill Next Door in the near future. Congratulations to all our nominees and finalists and thank you to all who took the time to vote. We’ll move our attention toward finding the Valley’s signature pizza in November, so start thinking of who you’d like to nominate.

If you like a little kick with your burger, look no further. The Danimal is Grill Next Door owner and chef Dan Fredrickson’s namesake. He sears bacon, cheddar cheese and jalapeños to form a spicy crust on top of the six-ounce ground beef patty tops it with grilled onions and mayo and serves it up on a sesame bun with your choice of fries, coleslaw, side salad or hand-battered onion rings ($1 extra).
