Minden, Nevada – Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini is proud to announce the recent appointment of a new Douglas County Deputy Sheriff.

Daniel Cannoy was sworn in on Monday, September 29, 2014 in a ceremony held at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Valley Station, in Minden, Nevada.

The appointment comes as a result of several months of testing and evaluation consisting of a written examination, physical agility test, oral interview, extensive background investigation, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, and medical exam.

Deputy Cannoy will now undergo a rigorous 12-week jail training program to provide him with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform his duties as a jail deputy.

Deputy Cannoy currently resides in Gardnerville, Nevada and is married with three children.
