UPDATE: (10 a.m.) The Record-Courier is reporting the Parade of Lights is a go for tonight. We just finished shoveling the driveway. The wind indeed caused some erratic snow drifts. The street, almost across the board, is covered with one inch of snow. Same with the driveway. The gutters had four inches of snow, our sidewalk had 6 inches of snow, and our neighbor’s sidewalk had 10 inches of snow. We’re revising our headline, because 1-2 inches isn’t accurate. But what can we really say? “1-10 inches?”

UPDATE: (8 a.m.) It’s tough to get a solid measurement on Friday night’s snowfall because the blowing snow left plenty of peaks and valleys around our yard.

Best as we can tell, it’s about 1-2 inches from last night. Here at least. Other areas of the Valley got 3-4 inches or more. The Record-Courier is reporting 7 inches in Genoa.

There is an 80 percent chance of snow of Saturday, but the total accumulation shouldn’t amount to anything more than a half an inch. After that, we should be done with precipitation at least until Thursday when a new system could move in.

Enjoy the snow this morning, Carson Valley!
