Douglas Disposal would like help to make the holiday season a little better for everyone in the Douglas County community.  Check those cupboards for extra cans & boxes or pick up a little extra when you shop; it’s time for the 19th  annual food drive sponsored by Douglas Disposal, Inc. and its employees.

Informational flyers will be left on trash containers the week of Dec. 2nd  – 6th.   Donations of non-perishable food items in plastic bags should be placed beside trash cans during the week of Dec. 9th  – 13th to be picked up by a Douglas Disposal employee.  The collected food is weighed and then delivered to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet to help support our community during the holiday season.  Donations may also be delivered to the  Douglas Disposal office located at 1653 N Lucerne St, ste A in the Minden Village.  For more information, please call (775) 782-5713.

In 2012, Douglas Disposal collected 11,006 pounds of food from their customers to support the Carson Valley community.  As always, the goal is to exceed the previous year’s totals so that everyone in the community can enjoy the holiday  season that much more.

Carson Valley Food Closet is located at 1255 Waterloo Ln, Gardnerville.  Information:  (775) 782-3711
