Staff Reports

Scarselli Elementary School was host to one of several Veteran’s Day events celebrated Friday in preparation for Monday’s real Veteran’s Day.

The Scarselli commons was packed with military veterans and parents of students as the school’s kindergarteners sang “God Bless America” and “I’m Proud to Be American”.

Mrs. Anderson’s fourth-graders put on a play, “A Star for Old Glory”, the colors were presented by the Douglas High JROTC, the Pau-Wa-Lu band and choir each performed patriotic pieces, the Cheetah Club presented “You’re a Grand Old Flag” and presentations were made by the school’s sixth-graders, the school’s second-graders and the school’s first-graders.

If anyone has any photos from other Valley events honoring veterans, or pictures of veterans they’d like to honor, we’ll gladly post them on the Carson Valley Times. E-mail your photos to joey@carsonvalleytimes.com or post to our Facebook at www.facebook.com/cvalleytimes
