Girls Tennis: Douglas falls to Reno in regional title match

The Reno High School girls tennis team captured the regional team title Friday  afternoon at the Caughlin Club in Reno, winning 15-3.

Douglas suffered its first loss of the season, getting two points from freshman Madelyn Landerfelt and a doubles point from Katelin Teigen and Kelly Sonnemann.

The Tigers, who won the Sierra League title earlier this year, will compete next in the regional individual championship.

Landerfelt enters as the No. 1 singles seed and Courtney McKimmey is No. 2.

Bryana McNamara and Ingrid Carlson clinched the No. 1 doubles seed out of the Sierra league, Teigen and Sonnemann were a No. 3 seed and Kellie Hergenrader and Tara Cottrill carried the No. 6 seed.
