McKimmey battled back, though, matching her opponents power game and moving her opponent around the court with a variety of shots before pulling away with a 7-6 (7-4) tiebreaker win.

That gave Douglas a 4-2 advantage coming out of the first round. From there, the Tigers took command with a dominating 5-1 second round.

McKimmey and Madelyn Landerfelt each went 3-0 in the singles bracket, with Landerfelt preserving her unbeaten record on the year.

Maggie Rich was also impressive, going 2-0 on the day.

In the doubles bracket, Kelly Sonnemann and Katelin Teigen went 3-0, Kellie Hergenrader and Tara Cottrill went 2-1 and Bryana McNamara and Ingrid Carlson picked up a crucial win to complete a doubles sweep in the second round.
