Western Nevada College’s Professional Skills Program is providing students the opportunity for individuals to gain training in the 3-D, computer-aided SolidWorks Level One program.  The class will meet Wednesdays from 6 to 8:45 p.m, Sept. 25-Nov. 20, at the Carson City campus. Fees are $425, including a textbook.

The 3D-drafting application program is utilized by more than 165,000 companies worldwide in a wide range of industries for design, documentation and simulation.

Leading the class will be experienced professional Bill Perez.

“We’re pleased to again be able offer this hard-to-find professional training, and we’re very fortunate that Bill Perez is available to conduct the class,” said David Steiger, WNC’s director of Economic & Workforce Development.

Perez will open the class by introducing the basics of SolidWorks 2012-2013, and progress to more advanced topics. Classes will meet in a lab setting with a workstation available to each student.

The college plans to offer a Level Two class during spring semester.
