You can see the mountains this morning, and the air quality index has been slowly crawling nearer to the “healthy range” for most of the night.

Still, as of 5 a.m., the air quality in the Ranchos was clocking in at 154, or “unhealthy” according to http://nvair.ndep.nv.gov/.

Containment of the Rim Fire, which has burned 237,341 acres outside of Yosemite, is still listed at 80 percent.

Look for a high of 84 today with winds from the southwest ranging from 10 mph to peak gusts of 35 mph.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the area due to the expected high winds and decreasing humidity.

Douglas High is scheduled to take on Fallon in tennis today, splitting sites between the boys and girls teams. We’ll see if they postpone or move the Minden match. Air quality in Fallon has actually been good.
