Douglas volleyball tops South Tahoe

After dropping the first game of the night, the Douglas High School volleyball team rebounded to post commanding wins in the following three to improve to 8-2 on the year in South Tahoe Wednesday night.

Douglas prevailed with scores of 16-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-23.

Katie McCullough led the charge with 14 kills, Ariah Barth had 11 kills, Jessa Gansberg had nine, Kristina Barnum had six, Sydne Huck had three, Maddy Strauss had two and Sage Pintler, Hailee Porras and Shelby Van Winkle each added one.

Barnum and Gansberg each had two blocks and McCullough and Porras each added one.

Barth and Nikki Hamada each had three aces and Porras, Van Winkle and Pintler each had one.

Barth finished with 11 digs to lead the defense, Strauss had six, Barnum, Maddy Lowe and Pintler each had five, Porras had four, Shay Worley had three, Hamada had two and Van Winkle and McCullough each had one.

Van Winkle had 17 assists, Hamada had 14 and Lowe had one.

Douglas defeated South Tahoe 25-11, 25-23 at the lake.

On Wednesday afternoon the Douglas High Frosh girls VB team defeated  South Lake Tahoe in Lake Tahoe 2-0 by the scores of 26-24 and 25-22
