Carson Valley Inn entertainment schedule through Sept. 14

The Carson Valley Inn features free live entertainment in the Cabaret Lounge on Sunday through Wednesday from 6:00 to 10 p.m., Thursday from 7:00 to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 1 a.m. As a courtesy to the Inn’s many sports fans, live entertainment is delayed as appropriate for certain major sports events so they may be viewed to their conclusion on the HD pull-down screen. Also, live entertainment is not held on Sunday and Monday nights during the regular NFL football season so we can show the Sunday Night and Monday Night Football games on the HD pull-down screen.

George Pickard, August 20 & 21:  George is an accomplished performer, believable impressionist, captivating entertainer and successful song writer. He co-wrote “What Did You Do with Your Old Forty Fives” for Bobby Vinton and backed up many acts from the fifties and sixties including The Shirelles, The Diamonds and The Platters. He was also one of the Kingsmen (Louie, Louie) for a while. George has played the Fillmore in San Francisco with acts such as Santana, Big Brother and the Holding Company and Jefferson Airplane.

The McBride Brothers, August 19:  The McBride Brothers is an authentic 60s Tribute rock ‘n’ roll experience with great grooves, unforgettable guitar riffs and three-part harmonies.  The group performs a veritable timeline of the 60s American and British rock ‘n’ roll invasion hits, including songs from legends such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Paul Revere & The Raiders, Dave Clark Five, The Outsiders, The Seeds, The Vogues, Creedence Clearwater Revival…and more!

Stew Stewart, August 22 – 24:  Always a crowd favorite due to his spontaneity, wit and ability to connect to the audience, a Stew Stewart show has something for everyone . . . country music, blues, oldies, comedy, classic rock, Motown and just plain ol’ on-the-spot fun!  A Nevada entertainer for over four decades, Stew has appeared at over 100 state and county fairs, many as the opening act for artists such as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Marie Osmond, Herman’s Hermits, The Drifters, The Coasters, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, The Oak Ridge Boys and more!  Stew’s band is a show in itself and they will be joined by Stew for his performances at 8 and 10 p.m.

Collin Raye and His Band, Friday, August 23 in the Outdoor Valley Sky Theatre: Five-time nominee for country music’s Male Vocalist of the Year! Twenty-three of Collin’s 25 singles went top 10; fifteen of these going to #1.  Some of his biggest hits were ballads Love Me, Little Rock and In This Life plus rockers I Think About You, My Kind of Girl, That’s My Story and I Want You Bad.  Tickets are $20 and $28 and are available through the Carson Valley Inn’s Hotel Desk in person or call 775-783-6606.

Brian Andrews, August 25 – 28: One of Northern Nevada’s top Elvis Impersonators, Brian Andrews presents his “King and Friends” show featuring Elvis and the people he performed with. Brian’s history of the King also includes impersonations of many of his friends in the entertainment field such as Dean Martin, Bill Haley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Nat King Cole, Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, Richie Valens, Ricky Nelson, The Everley Brothers and Chuck Berry.

Atomika, September 5 – 7: Atomika entertains with their huge variety of chart-topping hits from Top 40, Rock, R&B, Country, Hip-hop, Pop, Alternative, and Dance. From Aretha Franklin to Iron Maiden, no tune is left unturned. Joining leader and founder Mark Twohey (vocals and drums) are Adina Pearl (vocals), Keith Lindsey (vocals and guitar) and Jon Middleman (vocals and bass).

Dale Poune, September 10 – 11:  Dale plays guitar, dobro, mandolin and bass. An accomplished vocalist with a variety of musical styles, he has performed with the Fortunes, Buddy Miles, The Coasters and The Drifters – and is currently working with Lacy J. Dalton.

The Blues Monsters, September 12 – 14:  The Blues Monsters rocked the CVI’s Valley Sky Theatre in a free concert in mid-August and now they are returning for three nights in the Cabaret Lounge! A red-hot rockin’ blues band performing a powerfully unique combination of R&B, funk, jazz, and Chicago-style blues, this one is a “don’t miss.” Whether paying respects to the masters of traditional blues, or rockin’ out other tunes, The Blues Monsters get the whole house up and dancing!
