Good Morning, Carson Valley!

Both the Stutler and Faye fires have been listed as controlled or contained up near Jobs Peak, but yesterday’s lightning storm had fire crews around the region very busy.

Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch logged no less then five small fires, mostly out the Alpine County direction and most of which were quickly contained.

The county has a number of road maintenance updates in the works today. Expect delays on Drayton Boulevard from Centerville to Silveranch as a second layer of chip seal in placed and on Kimmerling from HIghway 88 to Tillman (also for a chip seal).

The Tahoe/Douglas Elks Carnival starts at 5 p.m. tonight after the weather kept it closed last night, and Town of Gardnerville will present “Brave” at the Movies in the Park at Heritage Park, starting at dusk.

Tomorrow, the Town of Genoa will host a dedication ceremony to celebrate the completion the Main Street Enhancement Project. The ceremony will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Nixon and Main.

We’ll have a number of stories coming in today, so keep an eye out.
