Minden-Gardnerville Forecast: July 23

Posted By on July 23, 2013

National Weather Service has a flash flood watch in effect throughout the day for anything south of Highway 50. Last time I checked, that includes, well, all of us.

Of particular note is the site of the Bison Fire: National Weather Service reports that nearly a third on an inch of rain fell on part of the burn site Monday evening. Storms today will be capable of producing a half-inch of rain in a short amount of times, which could result in debris flows on either side of the ridge line. This includes the steep terrain on the east side that drains into Smith Valley as well as areas on the west slopes that drain toward the Jacobsen Lane area of central Douglas County.

We’re looking at a high of 89 today with scattered, and potentially heavy, showers throughout the day starting after 10 a.m. Showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast through Sunday.
