We’ve got a busy morning coming up, so today’s report will be brief.

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners is meeting at Lake Tahoe today at 1:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Transportation Center, 169 Highway 50 in Stateline. The full meeting agenda can be viewed at this link if you are interested.

The Alta Alpina Cycling Club Twilight Series continues tonight with the Eagle Ridge Circuit Race. Information, altaalpina.com.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office unveiled yesterday a pair of surveillance trailers to be deployed at large public events to help serve as a deterrent and in data gathering operations. Details can be found at this link.

And of course Main Street Gardnerville’s Thirsty Third Thursdays wine walk will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Main Street, so drivers (and walkers) please take care along 395 through town tonight.

There were a couple of accidents in the Valley yesterday, including one involving a truck and a motorcycle that left one injured.

As we stated in the forecast, the heat wave gets a soft opening today at 95, before shooting up to 99 and 101 through the weekend. Be safe out there and take special care in the heat.

And the Triple-A All-Star Baseball Game was held at Aces Ballpark in Reno last night. Did anyone of you go? Do you have pictures? We’d love to see them. Post to our Facebook at www.facebook.com/cvalleytimes or send to joey@carsonvalleytimes.com.
