Sheriff’s Office unveils new public event technology

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has acquired two new trailers  equipped with surveillance cameras and recording equipment to assist the Sheriff’s office with large public events. These trailers have been purchased with monies provided in part by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council.
Each trailer is equipped with cameras that record for up to 16 days without being charged due in part by solar power. Each camera has the ability to rotate 360 degrees and automatically switches to infrared at night. These trailers can be operated remotely.
The trailers will be deployed at large public events and gatherings as a deterrent and to assist investigations solving crimes.
