I had the privilege of touring Carson Valley Inn’s new 12,000-square-foot outdoor events center this morning.

Construction, which began earlier this year, is progressing quickly, and the first event will be Aug. 11 with a free concert by the Blues Monsters. Splashdogs.com will also be hosting a dog dock jumping competition that day in the nearby parking lot.

The facility itself will seat up to 800 people, with a large stage and a new grass berm surrounding the facility, creating a natural amphitheater setting.

The stage structure includes full restrooms, a green room, storage and eating areas. Those sitting in the crowds for events will be treated to views of the mountain peaks and sunsets just above the structures’ apex.

More information on the facility and its upcoming events will be forthcoming as construction continues to progress. Check back for more updates.

Where is it exactly? Construction for the Carson Valley Inn Outdoor Events Center is nearing completion at the northeast corner of the CVI property (nearest the Douglas County Sheriff's Office)
