Break out the umbrellas for the start of this week as rain is in the Carson Valley forecast for at least Monday and Tuesday.

The National Weather Service is reporting that the Valley has about a 70 percent chance of precipitation for Monday with a high of 69 and winds at 10-20 mph. The rain should continue through Monday night and on into Tuesday before the storm gives way to a heat wave that will ramp up quickly later this week.

Wednesday should top out at about 87 degrees and then temps will hover in the mid-90s through the remainder before reaching up into the high-90s next week.
